This Earth Day consider the impact of smoking on the environment
This Earth Day let’s consider some of the facts about cigarettes and their impact on the environment.
Cigarette butts are the most littered item globally, making them not only an eyesore, but a massive environmental problem. With teen smoking rates at an all-time low of just 7 percent, down from 23 percent in 2000, ending tobacco is truly an achievable goal.
Ending smoking is absolutely a health issue. It is also an environmental issue. When we end cigarette use we will also end cigarette butts and stop the harm they cause to wildlife and the spread of toxic chemicals they leech into the environment.
