Bio
Representative Jim Dunnigan is a dedicated public servant and advocate for the residents of Taylorsville and Kearns, Utah. He served on the Taylorsville-Bennion Community Council from 1991 to 1996 and helped organize Taylorsville as a city, and then served on its inaugural City Council from 1996 to 2002. Now, he’s chairman of the Taylorsville Dayzz Festival.
Dunnigan is a small business owner in Taylorsville and was honored as a 2016 Business Champion by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce. He was named the Utah Small Business Champion of the Year by the National Federation of Independent Businesses and was presented with the Top 30 Business Friendly Legislator Award from the Utah Business Coalition. Dunnigan was also awarded the Meritorious Service to the Community as a Legislator Award from Taylorsville City and the Legislator of the Year from the Utah Health Insurance Association.
Dunnigan received his bachelor’s degree in science in business management from the University of Utah. He has served on the Truth Initiative board of directors since 2019.
